Patella Tendinitis Diagnosis

Patient

Q: Hi, I just recently turned 18 ,and I am having extreme amounts of pain in both of my knees....It all started during football season, I'm the kicker so I know this has to do alot with it. It got to the point where just sitting down would start hurting , so I went with the school, who takes us to a clinic, for all the players , one of the medics diagnosed me with patella tendinitis, I asked him how long that would take to go away, and said a couple of short weeks, being that I don't force it , ice, it and give it plenty of rest.. It has been 22 weeks and the pain still persists, this is a real problem because I want to take up BodyBuilding, and being able to squat and run, is very important for muscle growth, Please Help.
