Patient :I'm a top level powerlifter and have had some moderate pain in my knees for awhile, I believe related to patellar tendonitis. Yesterday I was squatting and felt a pop during the eccentric movement. I was able to finish the rep and another one afterwards. Since then, I've had some moderate pain on the front of my knee, just below the knee cap. It hurts when I flex it at full extension as well as when I bend it all the way. There is slight swelling in the area, not much though. I've been icing and wearing a knee sleeve since. My plan is to continue with RICE for a few more days to see if it starts feeling better, if not I'd go into a doctor. Just wondering what it could be.
