Pcos and home pregnancy test

Patient : Hello, I'm 26 years old and have pcos. I have had a regular period sense I saw a doctor for it almost two years ago. At the time I was not sexually active however, in the last month I have been. I have missed a period and taken a home pregnancy test which was negitive. I have read that women with pcos may not test positive with home pregnancy tests and blood test til late in pregnancy because everything out of wack with pcos. I have some symptoms of possible pregnancy; so I'm curious if if it's possible I got a false negitive?
