Patient : I am a 22 year old male who is experiencing thinning of my hair, almost exclusively in the area between the crown and before the fringe; essentially in the center of the top of my head. I have seen a doctor about this, and he tested my androgen's, and they came back at normal levels. He didn't do anything much further, and essentially shrugged me off as definitely having male pattern baldness because both my grandfathers went bald in their adult lives, but definitely not this young. I am quite young for my generation, and have 10 or more male cousins, and two older brothers, who are all around 10 to 20 years older than me, and none of which have any significant hair loss. Is it really likely that I am just that unlucky, or should I get tested for something else?
