Question about the birth control combined pill Rigevidon

Patient

Q: I started the birth control pill Rigevidon a few days ago, on day 24 of my cycle, as instructed by my doctor, and she told me that I need to use a barrier method of contraception for 7 days, then I would be protected from pregnancy. However, I then looked at the leaflet in the box and it said that this 7 day thing only applies if I began the pack on days 2-5 of my cycle and says nothing about beginning it after these days! Does this mean that I won't be protected after the seven days? And if so, for how long will I not be protected?
