Questions in Regards to Starting Birth Control

Patient

Q: I started birth control recently. I just started my "pill break" where I don't take my pill because I'm supposed to have my period. I have two questions. 1) I haven't gotten my period today even though it was my first day of my pill break, what should I do? I know I'm not pregnant, just maybe my timing is off. 2) Should I start my new pack of birth control in exactly 7 days to continueb as normal or should I wait until the last day of my period? What if I still have my period during the time I'm meant to start my new monthly pack?
