Radio frequency ablasion

Patient: My husband has undergone rfa once before. Everything went very well. We are now trying to get a second procedure done and the doctor told us my husband would be asleep and require 24 hour watch afterwards. Is this normal? Neither my husband nor I was planning on this and they have told us that we just don’t do that procedure with patients awake. We both now feel very uncomfortable with going ahead with this procedure. What is normal for rfa?
