Patient : I hurt my kneee for the first time in August 2011 playing soccer , had xrays and mri's done the doctor said it was just alittle fluid and swelling under my knee cap. Well lastnight at my basketball game i was shoved and felland hit my knee hard on the court, but it didn't hurt me at all so i just didn't worry about it.Well after my game i had soccer practice and slipped and the same kneeleg strecthed really far back, so i took the rest of practice lightly which was fine with my coaches. When i got home there was a lump the size of a golf ball on my knee cap that looked like a big bag of blood or fluid and was pretty painful and made walking difficult. I woke up this morning and the lump was gone but the pain was the same if not worse and the spot that the lump had been at was very red and warm. The pain continued throughout the day and is still bothering me just sitting here. I was wondering if this could be just alot of fluid in my knee that i need to have removed or if it's something that i need to get xrayed because it might be a tear this time?
