Patient : This is embarrassing. For approximately 1.5-2 weeks, I have had moderate to sometimes heavy rectal bleeding when I go to the bathroom. I also often have abdominal cramping after I eat. When I'm using the rest room, It often times feels like a steady flow of blood, and sometimes more blood than normal. The color of the blood ranges from red, to a deep red maroon color. I had an upper and lower endoscopy last time that this happened about 5 months ago and nothing was found. Also for some reason everytime I've gotten my blood drawn in the past 2 years since my surgery I've had an elevated white count. The issue stands I work at the local hospital, and I would honestly feel embarrassed to go to the ER with my co-workers complaining about this issue and find out I am over reacting. The question I ask I guess is what should I do. Could this be nothing, or should I truly be worried about this.
