Recurring infection after a month

Q: I am a 17 year old male. Back in Late November of last year, I had a bad flu. I stsrted with a sore throat to went to getting high fever, a sore throat, lethargy. Near the end I had bad whooping cough. Was in bed for 3 days straight and it went away completely after about 2 weeks. It's maybe only about a month, and my throat is getting sore and my temp is rising, currently at 99.5. I am feeling very hot as well. Is it possible to get another bad infection so quickly? Is there a more serious, an underlying cause?
