Red, dry skin around eyes after self induced vomiting?

Q: For a while I think I have been suffering from an undiagnosed eating disorder, I used to frequently restrict my intake of food as well as eat a lot and then force myself to vomit so as to not gain weight. I have lost quite a lot of weight and my family has began to worry and so a little while ago I made the concious decision to change my eating habits so as not to cause my body serious harm. I have however recently had a few slips ups which have resulted in self induced vomiting, I now have these under control and am back on track but I have noticed something that I would like to understand. After vomiting the past few times I, almost instantly, developed dry and red skin around/ on my eyes. I know that dehydration can be caused by vomiting but did not think that this would create such an instant effect. My question is therefore why have my eyes become swollen/ very dry/ red after making myself vomit? Thanks you!
