Risk of heart attack

Patient: My cholesterol is a bit high 220 but, my blood pressure is low 102/60. How concerned do I need to be about risk for a heart attack.

 

 

Symptoms: No symptons

 

 

Doctor: Thanks for consulting us. High Cholesterol is one of the risk factors for Ischemic heart disease along with Hypertension . Normal cholesterol should not exceed 200 mg/dL. LDL, Triglyceride levels should be low and HDL should be high. So, even BP is with in normal range, high cholesterol can pose a threat to heart disease. Consult your physician and follow his advice regarding how to control it. Have a nice day.
