Serious Back Pain

Patient

Q: My Father had a discectomy on L5 and L4 for a herniated disc a year and a half ago. Three days ago, he ran over a curb that he could not see due to his vehilce being so high. Each tire hit the curb at a different time. Immediately he felt pain. He has confined himdelf to our couch due to the pain. He gets up, not without difficulty, for shot periods of time but he has come close to falling twice while walking and standing... The pain is not going into his leg. He is worried about going to the doctor and not being able to work, as he is the main source of income for the household. Do you think it is just a mussle, or is it something i Really need to worry about and get him to a doctor? Thank you for your time,
