Severe physiological reaction to minor knee injury.
Patient : Hi. I am a 37 year old female in fairly good health. Two days ago I hurt my knee getting up from the ground to a standing position. It wasn't a serious injury but suddenly I started to feel very sick. I sat down and started to sweat profusely. Then I vomitted and my hands went numb. Not only did they go numb, but they were paralyzed and in the shape of a claw. It took about 15 min for this episode to pass. Then it happened to me again yesterday. This time it started while trying to go to the bathroom. I had some stomach cramps and then thought I was going to pass out while sitting on the toilet. Again the profuse sweating started and I vomitted twice. My hands went numb and paralyzed again. I was shaking and again thought I might faint, but I didn't. This episode took longer to recover from and I was exhausted for the remainder of the day. Any idea what is causing this severe reaction to minor ailments?
