Sex contraception, and other methods.

Patient

Q: What other conceptive methods are there is you can not use the pill?

Doctor

A:   Hello,
Thank you for your query at AskTheDoctor.com
I understand your concern.
There are lots of contraceptive methods available and pills are not recommended from such a young age since the side effect profile of these pills are still controversial.
Your partner can use a condom which is the best method of contraception preventing pregnancy, as well as sexually transmitted infections.
Other methods like wearing a diaphragm, or an intra-uterine device are available.
Withdrawal Method is a natural method that people try, where the male partners withdraws his penis right before ejaculation. This is effective if the partner knows when to pull out since the failure rates are high. Avoiding intercourse from the 8th to the 22nd day of the cycle ( provided periods are regular 28-35 days every month ) ensures no intercourse during possible ovulation dates and negates chances of pregnancy too.

Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
