Sexual contact but no sex

Patient

Q: Is it possible to get an STD or become pregnant when your sex organs come in contact with your partner's but you do not have sex?

Symptoms:  Slight pain and bleeding after contact, no discharge or odour
Doctor

A:   Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Sexually transmitted diseases generally spread through a sexual intercourse. However, one can even get infected by coming in contact with the infected blood, body fluids, semen, genital discharge, during childbirth or blood transfusion.
In your case, there could be a possibility of getting infected as there has been contact in some form, which may be contact with some discharge.
Kindly consider consulting a gynecologist for an examination and investigations. Your partner may also need to undergo the same.Diagnosis will be made accordingly and the treatment could be started in case of any infection. Avoid sexual intercourse till then and always prefer using protection like condom and avoid multiple sexual partners.
Hope this helped.
Regards
