Sharp lower back pain on one side

Patient

Q: I have a sharp, constant pain in my lower back, just on the right side, right about hip level. The pain is most severe when I raise my left knee upwards. I've had it for a long time hoping it would go away but it hasn't. Doesn't seem to be getting any worse but it's always there. Any idea what that might be?
