Doctor

A:   Hello,
thanks for contacting askthedoctor.com

There is all possibility that you may have suffered a stress fracture while running as you are an athlete. So the best way would be to get an X-RAY lower limb done to identify the cause and if required a splint or a cast may be applied for 3 weeks. You may visit your physician for a detailed examination first.
I hope i have answered your query in detail.
wishing you good health,
regards
