Should I be concerned about DVT?

Patient : 8 weeks ago, I broke the bottom of my fibula. I have had a cast on since, and was just recently given an air cast for the remaining 3 weeks.. No surgery required. The doctor has advised that it was ok to put weight on the leg. The night before, my entire leg has started to swell. There is a bit of warmth (that comes and goes) and tenderness on the inside of my thigh just above the knee. The orthopaedic specialist didn't seem concerned...Advil seems to help with most of the pain. Should I be concerned about DVT?
