Patient :I had orthoscopic surgery on my right knee 2 weeks ago and the Dr. just went over the procedure with me. he explained he removed 90% of my Lateral meniscus, a cyst on my interior horn, and he drilled hole in the channel where my knee cap rides to build up scar tissue because I had no cartilage. My question is this should I have had my knee replaced? Bone on bone ids the main source of pain right? Now I have only 10% meniscus left won't I have bone on bone contact? Why drill holes in my bone to build scar tissue? will scar tissue be sufficient enough to not cause me pain bending my knee?
