Shoulder pain and over use do to a sport


Q: I am on my high schools varsity swim team and about three to four weeks ago i pulled a muscle in my shoulder before a meet. i talked to myh coach and was told to ice it and limit movement. it didnt seem to help. it is now almost a month later and the pain in my shoulder is occuring more frequently and my muscles in this one arm cramp up so bad that it hurts to stretch it out and the other day at practice it started popping and grinding whenever i rotated my arm. once again i was told to ice it and stretch out and that it is just from over use. is it from over use or is it somthing else?
