Patient : I am 15 andi swim for my high school swim team. about 3 weeks ago i pulled a muscle in my shoulder and upper back. i was told to ice it and to limit movement. none of that seemed tohelp. now after about 3 weeks the pain occurs more often and when i swim the muscles in my right shoulder tense up to the point where it hurts to stretch it out. the other day at practice i was swimming and everytime i would rotate my shoulder it would pop and grind. once agfan i was told to ice it and that it was common amoung swimmers and that it is probably just over use. is this the case or is it tendonitis?
