Skipped Placebos Constant Spotting

Q: Hello I am on birth control and I skipped the placebo pills one time to prevent my period from coming while I was on vacation. I started a new pack of the normal pills. In the second week I got heavy breakthrough bleeding and have gotten spotting continuously for 7 days now. How do I get back on my normal schedule? I am half way done with this pack now and still bleeding. Do I continue taking this pack and hopefully still get a period through taking the placebo pills or do I start a whole new with the idea that this breakthrough bleeding is a period?

Symptoms:  Constant spotting
