Sleep problem that persists for more than a week

Patient: I’m trying to reset my sleep cycle, will melatonin supplements help? I’ve messed up my cycle by staying up all night and sleep in the day. To help the situation, I’ve remained asleep in the day after not sleeping the night before in order to exhaust myself to sleep the next night. Unfortunately that doesn’t work, i just remain awake the whole night. Now i’m starting to think i have insomia.

Symptoms: Can’t fall asleep in the night, Head hurts because of lack of sleep, eye burns
