Patient :Hi Doctor,
I'm suffering from allergic rhinitis for the past 3-4 years. Initially a doctor prescribed me cetrizine 10mg and there was temporary relief from non-stop sneezing and nasal conjestion. Then another doctor prescribed me cetrizine+flucanazole(inhaler type)+ some anti-leukotriene pill. But things only got worse.Every morning i start sneezing and have nasal conjestion (but i do not get coughs). When the temperature is bit cold, things get worser at times. But at times, very few days in a week, i'm completely normal. It doesnt seem like any particular allergen triggers my rhinitis. Is there any pathogen that can cause this problem for a prolonged period like in my case? if so, please tell me if antibiotics can help me? . It happens completely at random times. (Mostly in the mornings). recently i had severe conjestion and sneezing when i sat in an a/c room for 3 hours together. Nowadays i use avil 25mg or promethazine 25mg (avomine) whenever i start sneezing continuously as cetrizine has become totally useless. Is there any permanent remedy for my problem. I'm tired of antihistamines, cortico-steroids, etc. and will relocating to a colder place worsen my condition? now i live in coimbatore where avg temperature is like 25 degree celcius. Please help. Thank you.
