Sore throat but no Fever? What could it be?

Patient

Q: I have a temperature in the High 98's to low 99's, and am getting over what I thought were symptoms of a cold, eg. cough, runny/stuffy nose, feeling cold, and sore throat. Now, only the sore throat remains, and it is causing moderate pain while swallowing. What could this be. I have had the cold symptoms for about 4 to 5 days, and now for 2 or 3, only a sore throat.

Symptoms:  Symptoms: Sore Throat, moderate trouble swallowing, mild cough
