Sores and Hot Spots on Head

Patient: My husband (58) has “hot spots” or sores on his head. He thinks they are zits or has something coming out of his head, but I know they are not. I have had “stress sores” before and I had to stop picking at them to make them go away. He won’t stop picking at them with his dirty hands, insists I squeeze them which produces nothing and damages the tissue, and keeps putting hydrogen peroxide on them. It’s not cancer or bug bites or anything like that. What do you think is causing them and what should he do to get rid of them?
