Spironolactone and the Morning After Pill (Aftera)!
Patient :I have been on 200 mg of Spironolactone for a couple of months now. I started at 100mg but was bumped up to 200mg to clear my acne. It has worked wonders but ever since I started 200mg I haven't had my period. I want to say I've missed the last four. Recently, however, I had sex (two days ago) and the condom broke. I took the morning after pill (Aftera). I was wondering since I haven't had my period for four months, and I'm still on Spironolactone, does that mean I'm not ovulating? Thus chances of getting pregnant are significantly low? or is this assumption incorrect? I was also wondering what the minimum number of days is to wait before taking a pregnancy test? It says on the box 6 days before you're expected period, but since I haven't had my period in so long I'm not sure when to take the test.
Symptoms: Period, morning after pill, spironolactone
