Spotting can be seen in different conditions like menstrual irregularity leading to premenstrual spotting, ovulatory spotting, due to local causes like cervical erosion, uterine causes like polyps etc.
In early pregnancy spotting can be seen sometimes but spotting itself is not confirmatory for pregnancy.
So, please go for urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
If spotting persists better to consult your doctor once and get evaluated.
