Patient : Weight Loss vs Steriods. I am a female who eat pretty well nutritionally, fish, lean meats, salads with fresh lemon squeezed, usually no breads and no sugars. Stevia has been the sugar used for the past 10 years if I need to sweeten something no used often. I had two back surgeries about 6 years ago and as I get older my back usually inflame and I am in severe pain, can not walk, lay, stand, use the bathroom, shower or anything. The only thing that will usually get me back up is having to take a steroid pack and naproxen for inflammation. How does taking the steroids affect my weight as I continue to lose by eating right and walking as much as I can. I hear that steroids blow up up and I have noticed pants that were loose on me now have a gap about 4 inches within two months. If I have to resort to this medication will I continue to get larger and larger or will I be able to maintain a safe weight?
