Patient :My daughter recently had 2 stitches put in for a cut on her upper lip. When she went in for a follow-up to remove the stitches, the PA or NP didn't properly cut the stitches, which resulted in a piece of the stitch left in her lip. We went back a week later to get the piece removed without success. The doctor who attempted to remove the stitch suggested we wait another week in hopes that the foreign object will work its way out. I'm concerned that when we go back in a week, the same issue will result. And the larger concern is that all of these actions will result in a scar or possibly not removing the stitch. What actions do you recommend? Thank you!
