Patient: For the last few days, my calves have been very slightly and constantly trembling while at rest. It’s usually when I’m lying down and sometimes when I’m up and about, but usually only right after I’ve been lying down. They feel as though they’re slightly trembling, but it isn’t visible and if I ask someone to touch my leg, they can’t feel it. It’s akin to the feeling you get after you’ve worked to muscle failure, or even the trembling you feel when your blood sugar is low and you’re weak. It’s just that it’s so barely perceptible that you feel crazy and unsure it’s there, but it feels strange enough that it keeps you awake. Sometimes my legs will cramp a bit in the calves, too. I’ve also had my arms and legs easily go dead and fall asleep while I’m sleeping. I get these strange hot-cold sensations, too. This cy hot feeling in my legs. Tonight, I had a strange very acute and sharp pain in the back of my leg in the upper calf area wake me up. I also feel sometimes like when I’m touching my legs or my left arm, I almost can’t really feel it. At least not very well. I’m really freaked out by these sensations! What could possibly be happening?
