Strattera and Adderall Combination

Patient

Q: I have a question regarding ADHD and medication. I have been diagnosed with ADHD and Depression as an adult several years ago. I have tried Strattera and Adderall separately but neither seems to be a true solution. The Adderall helps tremendously with the focus and motivation aspect of the condition, but I experience anxiety, agitation, and at times hyper focus. With Strattera I am less anxious and less prone to worry about things. This seems to help me focus some but not as well as the Adderall. It does not seem to help with motivation much if at all. My question is would it be possible to combine these medications to treat the condition or is there another combination that may help me? Could the medications have a synergistic effect or would they interact negatively with each other?
