Strep spp in urine and UTI symptoms, though no infection
Patient : Dear doctor,
I have been experiencing frequent urination and urgency and discomfort in my abdominal.bladder for more than 4 months. After several tests they did found strep in urine (but only 100,000 every ml) and not other signs of infection. They put me on cipro for 5 days (500 mg). They pain in the abdominal subsided but the frequency did not. Almost 15 days after finishing cipro the pain came back. The antibiogramma showed that the strep is sensitive to almost all antibiotics (except erythromycin and oxacilin). After the cipro treatment I developed hemorroids for the first time of my life and the anal fissure I used to have as a child came back. I also have IBS.I am not sure if all these is connected to the urine frequency. Which antibiotic should I take this time and for how long?is one specific for Streptococcus. maybe fucidin oitment applied topically in the urertha could help, since strep is found in skin, I am wondering. I am very worried since no signs of infections are found but I am having the worst time with my symptoms.
