Patient : I am 20 years old, have chronic upper back pain from a car accident a few years ago. just a few days ago, my left forearm started tingling and i figured i just slept on it wrong because this happened in the morning..but it's been happening everyday since at random times and more and more throughout the day , now it's my forearm and hand all the way to my pinky finger. it is not as much painful as it is annoying.. this has happened once before after i was discharged from the hospital. i was admitted for pneumonia and bronchial spasms, my heart rate stabilized at 140bpm and they never really figured out why.. nurses have a hard time drawing blood from my arms due to my small veins, and at first i thought it had something to do with a pinched nerve or the medication i was on at the time (antibiotics and steroids) it lasted for a few days, i went to the hospital and they said it was nothing. this happened around april 2011. i would like to know what is causing this. i do type for a living but i've only had this job for less than two years so i can't imagine it being carpal tunnel. please help! why is my arm tingling?? also, my arm feels cold but normal to the touch.
