Surgery Criteria

Q: New Category name- Freibergs disease
My sister has recently been diagnosed with freiburgs diseas. When diagnosed, i researched possible treatment methods and found Dorsiflexion osteotomy of the metatarsal head. But when she went to see a consultant she was told she cant have the operation. we ere not given the chance to discuss risks and other various things but i would like to know the general criteria for this operation to chanlenge the consultant as i know this is a possible treatment method, could you please tell me the general critria as the consultant dosent seem to think that it would help her, i do trust his judgement but i want the facts to challenge him into a more open discuission as my sisters future carer could depend ont his, please help,
