Switching birthcontrol methods?

Patient : Was on Loestrin 24. On my second week of pills in the midst of it. Got ortho evra patch from my doctor today. Put it on today as I had not taken my pill for the day. Found out some information about how dangerous it is. I put it on at 3pm and now it is 12am. I would like to take it off and continue my birth control pills if possible. If this is possible while still being protected against pregnancy, when would this be safe to do? I would like to do it as soon as possible.
