Patient : I am currently diagnosed with hypertension and am taking 2 Atacand tablets per day. I monitor my blood pressure at home and I have noticed that my systolic reading can be quite high, often reading 160 to 170 but my diastolic reading is often quite low at the same time, reading 65 to 75. Is this normal or what could be the reason for this difference? Most sites that discuss hypertension show both readings to be above what it should be, but no explanation for one to be quite high and the other low.
