Tailbone Area Pain the Travels Across Lower Spine

Patient : I am having extreme lower back pain around my tailbone area. I am unsure how I injured it but I have had the pain for 3 weeks now and it has not gotten any better. The pain radiates and I get sharp pain anytime I sit too long, lay on my hips, or try to stand up. What could be wrong?
