Patient : Four weeks ago I had a genetics test (blood test) done at the Mayo Clinic to test for a mutated gene that runs in my family. My doctor said she would call me if the test was positive and send a letter if it was negative. Today I received a letter in the mail with information about a follow up appointment but no information. They're closed until Monday and I'm very frustrated because I don't know what it means. Is it safe to assume that it's positive because if it was negative they wouldn't set up a follow up appointment?
