The Vitamin D struggle

Patient

Q: Dear doctor,
4 months ago i found out i had a deficiency in vitamin d and was prescribed to take calcirol granules 60,000iu once a week for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks the vitamin d levels were back to 40ngperml 25 hydroxy vit d thus i stopped taking the granules. In order to maintain a good amount i added a vit d 5000iu supplement in the form of softgel everyday. it has been 3 months since i have taken the softgels but recent reports show a decline in vitamin d levels 30ngperml. Iam confused as to what to do next? should i dose up the softgels to twice as much or should i try another brand or just take the granules every month i really am very confused...please any help or suggestions on this matter would be appreciated
Also iam currently living in India
thank you.
