Patient : Five days ago I caught what seemed like a regular cold. But for the past few days it has felt like the worst cold I have ever gotten. My ears hurt so incredibly much and my throat hurts to the point I cannot swallow. I am completely congested, and my whole body hurts. My headache hasn't gone away since I first got the cold at all and is especially bad around my ears and radiates into my jaw and the back of my head. In addition, I have had dizzy spells where I could not stand up and they made me feel extremely nauseous. I don't normally feel nauseous or feverish when I have a regular cold. Is it just a cold, is it the flu, or could I have some kind of infection?
