This rash spread to his arms and a few on his face.
Patient : My son is 4 and goes to preschool. Last Friday they told me he was outside playing in the mud, normal. Saturday he developed a 102.8 fever accompanied by a rash that looks like pimples on his foot. This rash spread to his arms and a few on his face. I took him to urgent care and they thought it was strep throat even though the test was negative so he sent off a culture and diagnosed it as strep anyway. He started amoxicillin tonight, Dr's orders. My son had strep throat 3 months ago but never accompanied by a rash that looks like pimples. He could barely sleep tonight because he was complaining about the bottoms of his feet being itchy and hurting however there is no rash on the bottom of his feet, just the tops. I searched the Internet for a possible diagnosis for him but came up short. They said the rash was due to the strep throat but I'm not convinced. Please help I am really concerned. He can't sleep because of the bottom of his feet. Please give me some peace of mind. His rash doesn't look like scarlet fever like strep throat is associated with.
