Throat closes when I eat

Q: Im 53 female my only known allergy is sulfa. In the past 2 yrs. When I eat certain foods my throat closes. Sometimes I can clear it out sipping fluids other times I throw up. It happens with potatoes, cooked any style but not raw, breads, and rice. Rice makes me throw up cause I cant swallow. I have stopped eating those things but tonight I had some cambells chicken noodle soup which I added a little cooked chicken to an after a few bites I had to throw up I couldnt swallow. Am I developing food allergies? Or is something else going on. How do I know when it will happen or what will set it off
