Patient : I recently was diagnosed by a doctor with tinea cruris on my penis. It started off as a few red places on the head and started to get spread. That's when i went to the doctor. After I was diagnosed I was prescribed Ketoconazole 2% cream for the infection. I used it for roughly 2-3 weeks and saw major improvement. I thought it was completely gone but recently it has come back and it's worse this time. The fungus covers about half of the head and has also started to spread down to the shaft. The cream hasn't shown any improvement this time around, and I'm at a loss as to what I need to do. I am sexually active but I haven't had sex since I went to the doctor about a month ago. I do regularly masturbate however if that's a factor. I should also probably add that the infection doesn't give me any discomfort. There's no pain or itching, it just looks like i have a rash. Thank you for taking the time to help.
