Treated for Strep with a NEG Rapid Strep Test

Patient

Q: I have had a fever of 102 (going up or down a degree) for 5 days, accompanied by a severe sore throat, covered in white patches. My tonsils are very enlarged. I went to a minute clinic at CVS and although I tested negative for strep was prescribed Penicillin. Two days into the medication my symptoms continued to worsen, so I called in and they changed my prescription to azythromiecin (ZPAC). That was yesterday. My fever spiked to 104 and my throat worsened. I stopped taking the antibiotics all together because my dad informed me that what I have is probably viral so they won't help. I am feeling miserable and nothing is giving me relief at this point. Could you give me any suggestions?
