Umbilical hernia and pregnancy

Patient : Hi! I've been diagnosed with an umbilical hernia. It's been checked by my gp and a specialist and I am scheduled to have surgery sometime within the next 6 months to repair it. I'd like to get pregnant soon, however. I mentioned it to my specialist and he said that if I did get pregnant they would just do the surgery after I have the baby or if I have a ceasar again. But I'm still worried that it may cause problems throughout my pregnancy and I just wanted another opinion. It doesn't cause pain, although it has done intermittently in the past. I've had it for about 3 months. I had my first baby almost 2 years ago. Thank you!
