Uncomfortable bladder during menstruation

Patient

Q: Every month around the time when I am about to get my period, I get the feeling that my bladder is full, however when I go to the toilet, there is nothing. It usually lasts on and off for a few days. The times when I don't have this feeling, I am able to urinate properly without pain or discomfort and with a normal steam. Throughout the days that I do have my period, this feeling lasts much longer. I also occasionally feel it a couple of days after my period has finished. Is this normal as it only occurs around my menstruation timing? Or is it something more like an infection? The feeling doesn't cause me any abdominal pains, it's just an uncomfortable full bladder feeling. I have only started noticing this within the last year or so.
