Unexplained breast pain

Q: I am 26 years old and am breastfeeding my 2 month old. For the past 3 weeks I have been experiencing pain in a localized area of my left breast (only). It is very tender and is a sharp and sometimes throbbing pain. I was treated for early mastitis twice, and thought that I had a third bout of it, but after a milk culture my doctor ruled that out (along with a possible staph infection). They have me taking another antibiotic while they're trying to figure it out. I have also had an ultrasound of my left breast and no masses or suspicious areas were found. As far as all the doctors are concerned there's nothing wrong with me except that I'm having pain. What else could it be? I just want the pain to stop.
