Unexplained hair loss

Q: Hello! For the last 6-8 months, I've been losing my hair. It's really picked up in the last 3 months... so much so that I'm now getting noticeably thin areas in the middle of my forehead and on the sides of my temples. I'm taking 500mg of biotin (for about a year now) and the only Rx I take is 30mg of Amitriptyline (for about 10 years). I do have very heavy highlights, but have for years. No history of baldness in my family. I've had blood tests for my thyroid, and PCOS, but everything came back in normal ranges. I do have a lot of stress, unfortunately it's nothing that will be lessened any time soon. I know this is a lot of info, but any thoughts you have would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
